We made our connection in Chicago, but just by the skin of our teeth. We'll stop sweating soon, I hope. The AA app says our bags reached Chicago, but nothing about whether they made the connection. I guess we'll find out in Phoenix.
We're still in Louisville. Our American Airlines flight to Chicago has been delayed, guaranteeing we'll miss our connection to Phoenix. There is a later flight to Phoenix, and we were able to get seats on it, so I guess that's a good thing. However, American Airlines is playing a game they already played with us… Continue reading Flight delayed out of Louisville, prompting a dubious American Airlines “upgrade”
I'm not a big fan of Starbucks. However, that was not always the case. About eight years ago, I walked into the Starbucks near my office for the umpteenth time that week and handed over almost $2 for yet another "tall" brewed coffee. I sat in the shop for a little while, trying to be… Continue reading I don’t always drink Starbucks. But when I do, I prefer beer.
I'm checking in from the Subway in Terminal B at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. Our flight from Phoenix was totally full, and it seemed like everyone carried on a full-size suitcase. Seriously, most "carry-on" bags were bigger than the ones we checked. By the time our Group 7 boarded, there was no room in the… Continue reading Whoooa, we’re halfway there
Kathryn and I are sitting at the airport in Manchester, New Hampshire. With the winter weather yesterday, I thought it would be a good idea to arrive extra early today. As a result, everything has gone super smoothly. The rental car drop-off took less than a minute, the airline check-in took less than three minutes,… Continue reading The voyage back to Phoenix is underway
We're still waiting at Boston Logan for our flight back to Phoenix. Our flight has been delayed twice, giving us a chance to get to know the bartender at the Legal Sea Foods next to our departure gate. Perhaps the third time is the charm, although I see no evidence the incoming flight has even… Continue reading Flight delay at Boston Logan
A cortado from a Cuban café almost made it worth the trouble of flying through Miami International Airport. Kathryn got a cappuccino from the same place. Her larger cup had a description of the café on the back. Honestly, I'd never heard of this place, but I remembered enjoying a Cuban coffee in the airport… Continue reading A cortado almost makes it worth the trouble
