Brief encounter with Marianne Denicourt at the French Film Festival reception

We attended the reception for the French Film Festival this evening, which afforded us an opportunity, if we so chose, to rub elbows not only with other attendees but also with the delegation of French filmmakers, actors, and technicians who participated here in Richmond. Out of the blue, of all the people present, a notable French actress walked up to Kathryn and asked her to watch her bag. In French. At which point, Kathryn froze like a deer caught in the headlights. After which, the actress grabbed her bag and ran, never to be seen again. I’m not sure she’s ever coming back to Richmond. If not, you’ll know why.

  1. Oh my! That would have been a confusing statement for Kathryn, and most of the other English speakers we know, to be able to translate on the fly. So sorry she missed the opportunity for at least a selfie with the actress.

    1. All I had to come up with “Oui, absolument” but couldn’t find my words. I saw her again today and winked at her. She smiled and didn’t run away.
