St. Michael the Archangel

The prayer to St. Michael the Archangel has been on my mind and lips quite often since learning about the attacks in Paris last week. Last night I looked through my files to see if Kathryn had captured an image of St. Michael during our California Missions pilgrimage in 2012. It turns out she had.

St. Michael is patron of police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and soldiers, among many others.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the divine power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

It’s also worth noting St. Michael the Archangel was featured as a Badass of the Week (possibly NSFW) several years ago. Just in case you thought angels can’t be badass.
